Living in Hues is a Lisbon residence overlooking the Tejo, Cristo Rei, and the bridge — a home suspended between water, sky, and city. The project takes its chromatic language from a painting by Nicolas Party, borrowing its saturated blues, layered greens, and warm earthen tones. Every color within the interior — from the deep emerald seating to the terracotta accents and soft pastels — is drawn directly from that canvas, translating painterly composition into lived space.
The inherited architecture was minimal, masculine, and boxy. In response, we softened the framework through form. Rounded edges, curved silhouettes, and tactile materials counterbalance the rigid envelope, creating a sense of fluidity against the orthogonal shell. Custom-designed tables, sconces, chairs, and beds were developed specifically for the project, each conceived as sculptural yet functional pieces. The result is a home that feels immersive and expressive — where color becomes atmosphere and furniture becomes architecture.
